"Back Home"

This crisp, frosty morning along the south coast of the UK had me thinking about being "back home", and where all of my friends and family have come from and where they are now....

After leaving Torrance to go to school at Colorado State, being away from home has been the norm. 5 years of living on my own, 2 months abroad in 9 different countries, and now a year in the UK, it seems like "another day in the office" waking up and living life away from friends and family "back home". But honestly, where is "back home"? Obviously my family is still in the South Bay, but when I think of old friends and family I always assume that everyone will still be in the same spot where I left them 7 years ago... which I know is not the case. Friends back in Colorado have obviously moved on to bigger and better things, as it was apparent during my last year in Fort Collins when our friends group dwindled when people graduated and found jobs.

The plan is to move back to the Los Angeles area once we are done with our Master's program, but there are so many moving parts that who knows where we will truly end up. Our future is truly in limbo, and it is very foreign to me not to know what the next step will take us. Who knows where the next "back home" will eventually lead Jaclyn and I.... as long as we are together, the world is still ours to grasp.
